At our office in Hørsholm, you join a growing biotech company, focusing on bio-based production of biochemicals that find applications in both existing and novel markets. We develop fermentation-based processes to produce biochemicals, several of which have reached commercial scale with production at large, dedicated factories. Our processes include both novel and existing concepts where fermentation and biocatalysis is at the core. Being a growing company, we share a wide range of responsibilities and work closely together as a team. 

We are seeking a research assistant/scientist (depending on experience) to support our fermentation platform and R&D operations at Cysbio. You will: 

  • Actively engage in setting up and running fermentations, including making media, preparing, running, and cleaning bioreactors, as well taking samples and preparing samples for analysis. 
  • Analyse and organize data.  
  • Get a chance to be part of biological interpretation of the results. 
  • Be involved in the daily operation and maintenance of various lab equipment. 
  • Diligently registering your work in digital platforms. 
  • Participate in laboratory operation and management, such as maintaining stocks of chemicals and ordering consumables. 
  • Carry out chemical analysis. 
  • Be passionate about your work having direct impact on improving fermentation processes and new sustainable fermentation products. 

Your profile

  • Have an MSc degree or relevant academic or industrial research experience. Soon-to-graduate candidates are welcome to apply.
  • Experience with fermentation and microbial screening.
  • Fluent in English, speaking and writing.
  • Have pride in being organized and well-prepared in the laboratory.
  • Enjoy working hands-on in the laboratory.
  • Collaborative and positive-minded team player.
  • Knowledge of bacterial physiology is an advantage.
  • Experience with running HPLC methods is an advantage.
  • Experience with omics or downstream processing is an advantage.
  • Furthermore, data management and computational skills are beneficial.
